Setting up the Little Shed Designs Etsy shop

Well, after having spent a lot of time deliberating about selling online ..........

I have finally taken  the bull by the horns, thrown caution to the wind, rolled up my sleeves and signed up to Etsy,  Which is pretty obvious by that oversized badge that has gate crashed the Little Shed blog !!!

I was wanting a much smaller one that fitted the "look" of the blog , but obviously Etsy had other ideas
Initially I thought.... well here we go then, fasten you seat belts, liking it to that feeling you get when phoning your broadband supplier or The inland revenue and only armed with a flask of tea and a slab of Kendal mint cake, I set off putting my life on hold and bracing myself  for hours and hours of frustrating technical issues in the Etsy combat zone.

That's not me by the way!!

But, shockingly and surprisingly !!!!!!

It all went very smoothly and I began to enjoy my new found freedom of adding images and listings to my "all new" ecommerce shop. I was uploading images at the click of a button without pixel issues, quickly and efficiently and when I did "mess" up amendment wasn't a problem.

It was a walk in the park
The one area I  wasn't  really sure about was connecting my shop to my social media platforms eg Twitter, Blog spot and not wanting to download the whole contents of the shop to my Facebook page, I sought the help of the Social Media queen herself, lover of everything about Staffordshire and generally nice person, Emily from Simply Staffordshire.  With a cup of tea in one hand and a Ginger nut in the other Emily knowingly, navigated the good ship "Little Shed", through the stormy waters of this task.  So a big thank you, Emily for your patience, expertise and help..... as I am now fully "linked up".

So it only remains for me to say " hats off" to Etsy and their nominal listing fees , % of selling fees, constant updates and great support forums for making this journey as smooth as possible.  Although.....in the the back of my mind I still have this niggling feeling that some horrendous technical hitch is going to leg me up and I have a gremlin in the back of my head saying "it can't be that easy"!!!

Christmas cards

This year we have added a few more Christmas card designs to our range and they include a new "Ay up duck", two little puffins, a very cute labrador puppy, a very "Mootiful" cow , animals having fun in the snow and a gorgeous  greyhound and robin.  These new designs all sit happily together and we think really enhance our range.

The Little Shed's Valentine's range

As it's the month of love and here in the Shed we have added two new Valentine card designs to our range.  Our first new card is this little red squirrel, happily eating his nuts ideal for that special person in your life.

After designing this card another card popped into my head and that was the card that you might send when Valentine's cards are no longer an option and is headed "you drive me nuts"!!! I have filed that one for another day!

The Second of our new cards is "Ay up duck" peck peck!! these two "loved up" ducks are having a quick  kiss and unknowingly forming the shape of a heart with their necks and beaks!!! quack quack.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year
Little Shed Designs would like to wish everybody a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous 2014.
In 2013 the Little Shed was busy and along with the Little Shed's new and very first website www.littlesheddesigns.co.uk we branched out into other products.  Along with our new greeting card designs we used the little shed images for a range of quirky coasters and cheery button badges.

Looking forward to 2014 we hope to build on our success and continue to broaden our product ranges, using as always our hand illustrated designs.  Also our number one News Year resolution is to keep blogging!!! (where did Nov-Dec go).  We must confess that Santa brought the Little Shed a new camera for Christmas ,so we hope to see some great photo's (although as the instruction manual is in Cantonese that may be a bit troublesome).

8 Oct 2013

I would just like to spread quite a bit of exciting news to the sound of a trumpet blowing, Little Shed Designs now has it's very own website!!!www.littlesheddesigns.co.uk  I will be cracking open the gin later!!! as it has been a long time coming and has felt a bit like War and Peace at times but obviously not as cold or as dramatic and nobody lost their lives.

My cut out duck seems very interested
This means that now you will be able to see all of our designs under one shed roof and any shed updates along the way.

New duck coasters

Ay up duck coasters 100mmx100mm
Introducing the Little Shed Designs "Ay up"coasters,  we have started with this cheery duck and will be adding to them in the  future with our other designs.  Each quality coaster is made in the UK,  has a cork back and can easily be cleaned  with a damp cloth.

We think they will make everyone smile whilst having a brew!! and will be great little prezzies to pop in an
envelope or as a stocking filler at that special time of year!!
